Position title: Tree Crew Groundsman
Type: Full time
Position summary: A tree crew member will be part of a crew that provides high quality tree care. They will be involved in all aspects of pruning, removals and other concepts related to tree care. Duties include hauling brush and wood from the tree to the truck, assisting the tree climber, using various hand and power tools, and cleaning the job site.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment safely
- Load debris and refuse onto trucks and haul it away for disposal
- Collect debris and refuse from tree trimming and removals into piles using shovels, rakes, or other tools.
- Safe operation of shredding and chipping equipment, including the feeding of brush and limbs into machine
Education: High School diploma preferred but not necessary
Experience:
- Able to operate a chipper and other power tools
- Work at a fast speed
- Safety skills
Equipment – Operate safely and efficiently before moving into a different level:
- Chainsaw
- Poles
- Handsaw
- Chipper
Proficiencies/Certifications:
- Valid driver license preferred but not necessary
Salary: $17.00 to $22.00 per hour
