Position Title: Tree Crew Leader
Type: Full time
Position summary: Work involves responsibility for supervising, assigning, and participating in a variate of tasks, often hazardous, including climbing, pruning, and removing trees.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Undertake a full range of tree work including pruning, felling, shaping etc, using full safety and climbing equipment.
- Safely climb trees using climbing hooks and belts
- Provide mentoring and training to other crew members to help elevate their performance
- Maintain and demonstrate adherence to all company processes and standards
- Main point of contact for all crew responsibilities to include (equipment, vehicles, safety, crew members, and assigned tasks).
- Inspect ropes and climbing equipment
- Respond to out of hours emergency call outs
Education: Highschool diploma or equivalent
Experience:
- Must have high safety standards
- 3+ years of tree climbing/pruning experience
- Understand and carry out oral and written instructions
- Job planning and solving skills
- Able to adapt to a fast-working environment
- Experience with tree care safety standards
- Safely operate a chainsaw, chipper, truck, and other hand tools
- Ability to lift at least 75lbs correctly and safely
Equipment – Operate before moving into a different level:
- Chainsaw
- Poles
- Handsaw
- Climbing equipment: ropes, carabiners, spikes, clips, etc.
Proficiencies/Certifications:
- Valid driver license
Salary: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
